See below for condition and measurements.Ĭ O N D I T I O N: The case is in very good used vintage condition, especially for it's age. There are initials stamped in gold on the front of the case, V. The handle I believe is leather wrapped, and there are brass feet on the bottom. There is no longer any key for the case, but the latches open and close fine without a key. The latches are gold brass metal with patina. The top compartment is sectioned for all your toiletries and cosmetics, and the bottom is open with a single side pocket, for all your other essentials. It has two main compartments, a top, and a bottom. I am guessing it is from somewhere between the 1920's to 1940's, but that is just a guess. The final section of the report provides a policy solution: voter-determined districts. The subsequent section highlights four states where data show that gerrymandering likely played a key role in restrictions on Medicaid eligibility: North Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Georgia. The first section explains two common state efforts to limit access to health care: 1) refusing to expand the state Medicaid program to provide low-income adults access under the ACA and 2) initiatives to take coverage away from beneficiaries who do not meet burdensome work requirements. This report analyzes the relationship between gerrymandering and Medicaid policy. A 2019 report from the Center for American Progress demonstrated how gerrymandering has stopped state legislatures from taking action to prevent gun violence, blocking the passage of popular, commonsense measures such as universal background checks and extreme risk protection orders. Gerrymandering affects everything that legislatures do by shifting who gets elected in the first place. Evidence shows, however, that Medicaid work requirements not only result in low-income people losing health coverage but also fail at their purported objective of boosting employment. In Michigan-another state with heavily gerrymandered districts-conservatives in control of the Legislature have attempted to limit beneficiaries’ access to Medicaid through the imposition of burdensome work requirements. In North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Georgia-three states that have not expanded Medicaid-1 million more people would have been insured and roughly 3,000 deaths would have been prevented in 2019 alone if the expansion had been fully implemented. And that means that on issues such as the expansion of Medicaid, conservative politicians can cater to the extreme right wing and oppose policies that would save lives at minimal cost to state taxpayers. 3 By gerrymandering their districts, politicians can stay in power-and keep their political parties in power-even if they lose voter support. Many of these states have failed to expand Medicaid because of partisan gerrymandering-the practice of drawing district lines to unfairly favor particular politicians or political parties. While Medicaid enjoys strong public support, officials in a handful of states are refusing to act in the interests of their own citizens. When you connect to the Cloud PC, it open in full screen, which gives the impression that you’re running Windows 10 natively on the Mac. When all that is done, the Cloud PC will show up in the app as it does on Windows. Then, open Remote Desktop, choose Workspace > Add Workspace, paste in the subscription URL, authenticate, and then add your Cloud PC to the app. Similar to the Windows version, you then need to get a subscription URL from the Windows 365 website. To get started with Windows 365, I downloaded and installed Microsoft Remote Desktop from the Mac Store. So in the spirit of my earlier mile-high examination of Windows 365, here’s what it’s like to access this service on these other platforms. But what about other platforms like Mac, Chromebook, and iPad?Įach presents its own challenges, but it’s interesting to note that Microsoft makes a native Remote Desktop client on Mac and iPad (and on Android), while Chromebook users will typically access the service via the web client. Because of Googles track record with product support, this will never get fixed and thus I will never use this product.Yesterday, I looked at the experience of using Windows 365 on Windows 10/11 using the Remote Desktop app. And no I’m not going to just unplug my second monitor every time I walk away from my computer in case I need to connect with Remote Desktop. The only display option I have is to resize desktop to fit.īecause of this, I have to rate it 1 star because it is simply UNUSABLE for me in its current state. Apparently that option isn’t there anymore. I’ve googled this problem and everyone says the solution is to change which monitor to display. That’s not useful because when I open windows they default to the primary window, and guess what, I can’t see them. However, the app isn’t at all useful to me because of one thing: there is no option to change display.įor some reason when I connect to my desktop it defaults to showing the second monitor only. I want to start by saying that I love the potential an app like this brings, being able to access my computer from anywhere, even if it is just to check a date or a password etc. I hope you would take this suggestion into consideration because it would be so helpful to most of not all users of the Chrome Remote Desktop app. That would really bring it all together, and instead of having it integrated make it a custom Keyboard that you have to enable in settings and all that but have its option settings in the app. It bugs me quite a bit that they haven't thought to do it yet because it is nessessary! How is anyone supposed to use Esc or any of the other essential keys?! A 4 layer keyboard would be great, first layer has the letters, backspace, Shift/CapsLock, space bar, return/enter and the main punctuation marks ( like most regular keyboards) And again like most keyboards there would be a second and third layer of numbers and other symbols and then ANOTHER layer that has all the Esc, Ctrl, Shift, Windows, Tab, Print Screen, F1-F12 buttons among others. I have been using this app for a while now and it has been incredibly useful in so many situations but there is one thing that bugs me so much The app needs is own custom Keyboard, a semi transparent, customizable keyboard. I LOVE THE APP BUT THERE IS SOME THINGS THAT NEED TO BE ADDED. |
